This notice explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, how long we keep it and the choices available to you. It applies to website visitors, people who contact us and customers using our services.
We collect only the information reasonably needed to respond to you, deliver agreed work, keep our systems secure and meet our legal and business obligations. We do not sell personal information.
We trade as V-Tech Solutions and are based in Worthing, West Sussex. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice.
The exact information depends on how you contact us and the service you ask us to provide.
Please do not send passwords, recovery codes, full payment card details or highly sensitive information through the website enquiry form. Where secure access or sensitive technical information is genuinely needed, we will agree a more appropriate method with you.
We do not routinely ask for special category information. If you choose to provide information of that kind, we will only use it where there is a clear and lawful reason.
Data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for each use of personal information. The basis may vary with the circumstances, and more than one basis may apply.
We limit sharing to what is reasonably needed for the service, our systems or a legal requirement.
We may use website hosting, email, cloud storage, backup, accounting and other IT providers that process information on our behalf. We may also share relevant details with trusted suppliers or specialists where this is needed to deliver agreed work.
We expect providers acting for us to protect the information and use it only for the agreed purpose.
We may share information with professional advisers, insurers, regulators, law enforcement bodies or public authorities where this is necessary to comply with the law, protect rights, prevent fraud or deal with a claim.
We do not sell or rent personal information.
Some technology providers may store or process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this applies, we will use a recognised legal safeguard, such as an adequacy regulation, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to approved contractual clauses, as appropriate.
We keep information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose described, including legal, tax, security and dispute requirements.
We may keep information for longer where the law requires it, a dispute is ongoing or there is another clear and lawful reason. When information is no longer needed, we delete it securely or anonymise it.
Not every right applies in every situation, but we will explain our response and the reason for it.
You can ask for a copy of your personal information and ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
You can ask us to delete information or restrict how we use it in certain circumstances.
You may have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests and, in some cases, receive information in a portable format.
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before it was withdrawn.
Email [email protected] with the subject “Data Protection Request”, or call 01903 683130. We may ask for proportionate information to confirm your identity or authority to act for someone else.
If you believe we have handled personal information incorrectly, contact us with the subject “Data Protection Complaint”. We will acknowledge the complaint within 30 days, investigate it without undue delay, keep you informed where appropriate and explain the outcome.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We would appreciate the opportunity to resolve the issue first, but this does not affect your right to contact the ICO.
At the date of this notice, the website does not use optional advertising or behavioural analytics trackers. Essential website functions, server logs and security controls may still process technical information.
Read our Cookie Notice for further information.
We do not use personal information to make solely automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you, and we do not profile website visitors for advertising.
We use proportionate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, restrict access and reduce the risk of loss, misuse or unauthorised disclosure. No system is completely risk free.
We may update this notice when our services, suppliers or legal obligations change. The latest version will remain available on this page and the update date will be shown at the top.
